Corona Virus 2020

The start of 2020 has unfortunately been dominated by the outbreak of the Corona Virus.

The Trust will continue to help as many families as possible during this difficult time. However, as fund raising has now temporarily come to an end due to the lockdown I only hope that our existing funds will carry us through this period. Stay safe everyone!

Year end 2019

2019 was another good year for the Trust. A total of £6600 was raised from various events and saw donations from many of our regular supporters.

We helped in excess of 50 families with a variety of gifts and financial support and received some lovely photos and words of thanks all of which you can see on our Facbook page - Joseph Cooper Trust.

2020 will see our 7th year of fund raising which has surpassed my original expectations when setting up the Trust back in 2013. I hope that I can continue with the Trust for many more years to come. Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year - Tracy

Year End 2018

What another fabulous year. Total amount raised with your help came to £9501.27. Another record number of families came to us for help this year - 70 in total - so glad to bring a little happiness to the lives of these children and their families.

Since setting up the charity in 2014 we have raised a huge £85,550.51, I would never have dreamed that we could do this back then, our aim is now to reach £100,000, so lets keep going folks and make 2019 an equally successful year.

The Year End - 2017

So 2017 saw us raise just over £11,000 with the help of various supporters throughout the year which was amazing and I would like to thank all of our fundraisers for their generous efforts.

Together you helped us provide either a gift or financial support to 56 children and their families, this was the highest so far and 2018 has started just as furiously

If you are looking at taking part in a personal challenge or any kind of fund raising event this year then please think of us, we cannot continue without your valuble support.

AGM Update March 2016

On the 20^th March the Trust held their AGM to discuss the objectives for 2016.
The main topic of conversation was centred around how the money raised is to be spent. The charity was originally set up as it was Joseph’s personal wishes to provide gifts and financial support to children and their immediate families in times of need.

We were also looking at getting the ‘butterfly bus’ on the road to provide respite services to families. This matter was discussed at the AGM at great length and it has been decided that at this moment we are not in a position to facilitate this, and we have decided to revert back to Joseph’s wishes and look to proactively spend some of the funds this year directly with the families in need.

Not only are we looking at providing the children with personal items eg lap tops, ipads etc but in addition offering help to respective families with financial support which could include unexpected bills, additional travelling costs etc. These are sometimes things that we all take for granted but for families trying to cope with a sick child and all the upset that this entails it can add additional stress and worry.

The Committee would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far and we are continuing with our fund raising over the coming year.

Motorpoint adopts the JCT

I am pleased to announce that Motorpoint Derby have adopted the JCT as their official charity partner, and will be undertaking various fund raising activities to help get the first "Butterfly Bus" on the road.

Memorial Walk - 15th June 2015

I am pleased to say that Castle Donington College are again undertaking a memorial walk on behalf of the JCT as we approach Joseph's Angelversary.

This will now become an annual event and I am thrilled that the children still want to remember him. It will be an extremely emotional day for me but I will be there in recognition of my gratitude. Thank you - Tracy

Following the sudden passing of my husband Mark, Joseph's dad I would like to reassure everyone that I have every intention of continuing with the Trust and hopefully fulfill the plans that Mark and I had for this year.
